Vacancy for Water Sanitation and Hygiene-WASH officer

RRN is looking for competent candidates to fill the following positions for Advancing WASH systems in poor and marginalized communities in Chitwan district, Nepal project funded by Welthungerhilfe and Viva Con Agua and being implemented by RRN in Ichhakamana rural municipality and Kalika municipality of Chitwan district of Nepal.

 

Water Sanitation and Hygiene-WASH officer

Main Responsibilities:

  • Take lead on WASH promotions with a focus on Behavior Change Approach and design and implement the training program.
  • Support for WASH program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation (with at least 60% travel in the field).
  • Quarterly, annual, and activity-wise reporting.
  • Coordination with local government, district authorities, Networking, and Advocacy.

 

 

Qualification & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Engineering, Public Health, Development Studies, or relevant discipline with at least five years of relevant experience in water sanitation and hygiene promotion projects.
  • Good understanding of WASH governance, Menstrual Hygiene Management, community-led total sanitation, and total sanitation approach.
  • Good understanding of WASH policies and guidelines of Nepal Government
  • Good understanding of different social accountability tools like public auditing and community scorecard.
  • Ability to analyze a situation, synthesize information, and use the outputs to improve implementation and good coordination.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Well-versed in English and Nepali languages and have good knowledge of computer skills with general software such as Microsoft Office.

 

Work Stations

WASH officer will be based in Chitwan district office with more than 60% time to project area (Ichhakamana rural municipality, Kalika Municipality). Sub-engineer will be based at Chitwan district office or site office Kurintar with more than 60% time to project area. WASH facilitators will be based at project wards of Ichhakamana rural municipality and Kalika municipality with responsibility for 2 wards each.
