Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of design and cost estimates of WASH infrastructures (Water supply system, school toilet, community toilet, and other infrastructures) and implementation (with at least 60% travel in the field).
  • Coordination with local government and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitation of different pieces of training to WUSCs including operation and maintenance training and WSP training


Qualification & Required Skills:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience in water sanitation and hygiene promotion projects.
  • Good skills in design and cost estimate preparation for Water supply systems; sanitation systems in schools, health institutions, and community
  • Good skills in the implementation of Water supply systems; sanitation systems in schools, health institutions, and community.
  • Good skills of social mobilization and coordination with local government and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and negotiation skills
  • Having good knowledge of computer skills with general software such as Microsoft Office and Autocad


Work Stations

WASH officer will be based in Chitwan district office with more than 60% time to project area (Ichhakamana rural municipality, Kalika Municipality). Sub-engineer will be based at Chitwan district office or site office Kurintar with more than 60% time to project area. WASH facilitators will be based at project wards of Ichhakamana rural municipality and Kalika municipality with responsibility for 2 wards each.
