Rationale of the
Project
RRN is implementing
development phase of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Schemes
(sixth batch) in Sankhuwasabha for six groups or communities
Tallo Syabun, Mathillo Syabun, Tallo Sibhuwa, Mathillo
Sibhuwa, Sattare Khahere and Khaptua. After surveying, field
study and discussion with the community members necessity
for the community were identified, among them Water Supply
and Sanitation system was most important one. The present
existing sources for water are polluted; located at distance,
have to wait long to collect water So the women had to spend
the whole day for fetching water. As a result, they couldnt
do other work or could not go to work to earn their living.
Besides, the community also has to face health problems and
village environmental hygiene problems which leads to health
hazards like waterborne diseases, diarrhea etc. Therefore,
all community people from different ethnic group were united
for the well being and prosperity of their society, and were
ready to contribute labor (skilled/ unskilled), technical
skill and assist in almost all work on which they could contribute.
They have a strong feeling that if water supply and sanitation
problem is solved, they will be perfectly fit and healthy,
literate and be benefited in other fields as well.
General Objective
The general objective
of this project is to supply drinking water and improve health
and sanitation of the community.

Sanitation
Results
This project RWSSP aims to bring great impact
in the lives of the beneficiaries or the community. It helps
to improve the lifestyle of the rural poor providing them
the best, clean and safe water supply system and proper sanitation
system. As a result the beneficiaries can save their maximum
time which was used in fetching water from a distant area.
This project helps to increase their efficiency at work as
they save their energy to move far to get water. Because of
clean and safe drinking water and proper sanitation system,
it helps to improve the health of the beneficiaries. When
there is good health people can work more efficiently and
can earn their living in better way which helps to reduce
the rate of unemployment. By giving health education, sanitation
education, school health promotion plan and non-formal education
activities this project aims to bring good impact in the lives
of the beneficiaries or the community.
